Welcome to the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. Our programme combines training and education in aeronautics and astronautics; to design, develop, test, produce and operate aircraft (helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, aeroplanes, etc.) and spacecrafts (orbiters, flybys, landers, atmospheric probes, etc.). Our vision is to be a leading centre of excellence in aerospace engineering education, research and innovation. Aerospace is an exciting, dynamic and rapidly evolving sector.  Our goal is to contribute to the growth of this industry in Nigeria and in the West African sub-region. The Department is at the centre of the proposed and viable aerodrome community project in Ile-Ife, which will have a domestic airport and its attendant service infrastructures and facilities. I believe that aviation is the future of transportation in Nigeria and in the world at large. We would like to position ourselves as a major player in this future. Come fly with us!
